Judged or Condemned share the same root — κριν- — with the "condemn" group built by adding prefixes that intensify or turn the meaning against someone.

The κρίνω word group ("judge")

κρίνω (krinō) — the core verb: to judge, decide, separate, evaluate. Matthew 7:1, "μὴ κρίνετε" (do not judge); John 7:24, "judge righteous judgment."

κρίσις (krisis) — the act of judging, or the verdict itself. Often "the judgment" in an eschatological sense. John 5:22, 24, 27.

κρίμα (krima) — the sentence or decision rendered, sometimes a lawsuit. Romans 2:2–3; 1 Corinthians 11:29 ("eats and drinks κρίμα to himself").

κριτής (kritēs) — the judge (the person). James 4:12; Acts 10:42 (Christ as "κριτὴς ζώντων καὶ νεκρῶν").

κριτήριον (kritērion) — the tribunal or court where judgment happens. 1 Corinthians 6:2, 4; James 2:6.

ἀνακρίνω (anakrinō) — to examine, investigate, scrutinize (judicial inquiry). 1 Corinthians 2:14–15; 4:3–4; Acts 17:11 (the Bereans "examining" the Scriptures).

διακρίνω (diakrinō) — to discern, distinguish between, evaluate; in middle/passive often "to waver, doubt." 1 Corinthians 11:31; 14:29; James 1:6.

διάκρισις (diakrisis) — discernment, distinguishing. Hebrews 5:14; 1 Corinthians 12:10 ("διακρίσεις πνευμάτων").

The κατακρίνω word group ("condemn")

The prefix κατά ("down, against") gives this group its adversarial force.

κατακρίνω (katakrinō) — to condemn, give judgment against. Mark 16:16; Romans 8:34; John 8:10–11 ("οὐδείς σε κατέκρινεν;").

κατάκριμα (katakrima) — the sentence of condemnation, the penalty itself. Romans 5:16, 18; 8:1 ("οὐδὲν ἄρα νῦν κατάκριμα τοῖς ἐν Χριστῷ Ἰησοῦ").

κατάκρισις (katakrisis) — the act or process of condemning. 2 Corinthians 3:9; 7:3.

καταδικάζω (katadikazō) — to pronounce guilty, sentence. Matthew 12:7, 37; Luke 6:37; James 5:6.

καταδίκη (katadikē) — the verdict/sentence of guilt. Acts 25:15.

καταγινώσκω (kataginōskō) — to find fault with, condemn (literally "to know against"). Galatians 2:11 (Peter was "κατεγνωσμένος"); 1 John 3:20–21 (when our heart condemns us).

A few related terms worth noting

αὐτοκατάκριτος (autokatakritos) — "self-condemned." Titus 3:11.

ἀκατάκριτος (akatakritos) — "uncondemned, without trial." Acts 16:37; 22:25 (Paul protesting Roman procedure).

ἀκατάγνωστος (akatagnōstos) — "beyond reproach, not condemnable." Titus 2:8.

The conceptual opposite of κατακρίνω in Pauline theology is δικαιόω (dikaioō, "to justify, declare righteous") — not from the κριν- root but from δικ- (justice/right). Romans 8:33–34 plays them off each other directly.

If you want, I can dig into any one of these in more depth — for instance, the distinction between κρίμα and κρίσις, or how Paul uses κατάκριμα versus κατάκρισις in Romans and 2 Corinthians.

Jesus should not be portrayed with long hair because:

Nazirite Vow: In the Book of Numbers (6:1-21), the Israelites could take a Nazirite vow, a special vow of dedication to God that included several stipulations, one of which was not to cut their hair during the period of the vow. Samson, a famous figure from the Book of Judges, was a Nazirite from birth and had long hair as a sign of his vow. So it could be said that they normally would have shorter hair.

Priests: According to the Book of Ezekiel (44:20), priests were not to shave their heads or let their hair grow long but were to keep the hair of their heads trimmed.

Men and Women: The Apostle Paul, in his first letter to the Corinthians (11:14-15), makes a distinction between men and women's hair, stating that it is a disgrace for a man to have long hair, but a woman's long hair is her glory. However, this is a New Testament passage and reflects cultural norms of the 1st century AD, which may have been different from earlier periods.

So while it was not a command it seems, IMO when a man looks like a woman from behind with their long hair then it is an issue and one can often be mistaken as being a woman from behind as many of us have likely experienced.

It is merely the 'device' used to execute our Lord. An argument often made that he would not have been executed using a 'pagan' cross is not relevant as the execution 'device' is not relevant.

On the other hand if one is arguing from an interpretation point of view you will note that Cross/Stake/Pole/Tree is used and while it could be argued that it should be interpreted more correctly as being one of those, as all scripture is inspired by our Heavenly Father and should be correct and consistent, it would seem that Cross/Stake/Pole/Tree is used almost 50/50 from my research.

I agree that should not be the case as either it should be one or the other, but I have yet to find conclusive scriptural, not historical, proof which actually points more likely to evidence for either.

Also, it’s not a talisman or special or to be worn as a Christian symbol IMHO. Imagine wearing the gun that killed your husband or relative around your neck in remembrance of their sacrifice so that you could be freed from a hostage situation. You would not!

Gen 6:5-9 Yahweh saw that the evil of humanity was multiplying ion earth, and every form of the devisings of its heart was surely evil all the day. Yahweh regretted that He had made humanity on earth, and He grieved in His heart. So Yahweh said: I shall wipe out humanity that I have created, off the surface of the ground, from human unto beast, unto the creeper and unto the flyer of the heavens; for I regret that I have made them. Yet Noah, he found grace in the eyes of Yahweh. These are the genealogical records of Noah. Noah was a righteous man; he became flawless in his generations; with the One, Elohim, Noah walked.

Gen 13:13 Now the men of Sodom were wicked, great sinners against the LORD.

Exod 23:1,7 From this we gather the wicked are those that practice bad or evil works.

1Cor 6:9-11 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

Rom 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth.

Rom 1:29-32 They were filled with all manner of unrighteousness, evil, covetousness, malice. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness. They are gossips, slanderers, haters of God, insolent, haughty, boastful, inventors of evil, disobedient to parents, foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless. Though they know God's decree that those who practice such things deserve to die, they not only do them but give approval to those who practice them.

Can we call humans evil?

Yes, as scripture does. But I would not go as far as doing so to their face but only by reference. It is reserved for those who practice what is evil or unrighteous.

Luke 6:45 The good person out of the good treasure of his heart produces good, and the evil person out of his evil treasure produces evil, for out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.

1Cor 5:13 God judges those outside. “Purge the evil person from among you.”

2Thess 3:2 and that we may be delivered from wicked and evil men. For not all have faith.

2Tim 3:13 while evil people and impostors will go on from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.

Rev 2:2 I know your works, your toil and your patient endurance, and how you cannot bear with those who are evil, but have tested those who call themselves apostles and are not, and found them to be false.

Rev 22:11 Let the evildoer still do evil, and the filthy still be filthy, and the righteous still do right, and the holy still be holy.

While calling someone evil may sound condemnatory the Bible also indicates wicked humans can change and be seen as righteous.

The verses in question are listed below.

The terms βασιλεία (basileia) and βασιλέα (basilea) are distinct in form, meaning, and grammatical function in ancient Greek, despite their superficial similarity. Below is the definitive contextual difference based on linguistic, grammatical, and manuscript evidence:

1. βασιλεία (basileia):

- Form: This is a feminine noun in the first declension, typically spelled with the diphthong -εια (iota-alpha) in the nominative singular.

- Meaning: It means **"kingdom,"** **"reign,"** "royal power," or "authority." It refers to the abstract concept of sovereignty, rule, or the domain of a king. In some contexts, especially in Hellenistic or Christian texts (e.g., the New Testament), it can denote a spiritual or divine kingdom, such as the "Kingdom of God."

- Grammatical Role: It functions as a subject, object, or complement in sentences, depending on its case (nominative, accusative, dative, etc.). For example:

- Nominative: ἡ βασιλεία τοῦ θεοῦ (hē basileia tou theou) = "the kingdom of God."

- Accusative: εἰς τὴν βασιλείαν (eis tēn basileian) = "into the kingdom."

- Contextual Use: Common in philosophical, political, and religious texts to describe governance or divine rule. In manuscripts like the Septuagint (LXX) or New Testament, it frequently appears in discussions of divine authority or eschatological kingdoms.

Scriptures Containing βασιλεία (basileia, "kingdom"):

Matthew 3:2

Matthew 4:8

Matthew 4:17

Matthew 4:23

Matthew 5:3

Matthew 5:10

Matthew 5:19

Matthew 5:20

Matthew 6:10

Matthew 6:33

Matthew 7:21

Matthew 8:11

Matthew 8:12

Matthew 9:35

Matthew 10:7

Matthew 11:11

Matthew 11:12

Matthew 12:25

Matthew 12:26

Matthew 12:28

Matthew 13:11

Matthew 13:19

Matthew 13:24

Matthew 13:31

Matthew 13:33

Matthew 13:38

Matthew 13:41

Matthew 13:43

Matthew 13:44

Matthew 13:45

Matthew 13:47

Matthew 13:52

Matthew 16:19

Matthew 16:28

Matthew 18:1

Matthew 18:3

Matthew 18:4

Matthew 18:23

Matthew 19:12

Matthew 19:14

Matthew 19:23

Matthew 19:24

Matthew 20:1

Matthew 20:21

Matthew 21:31

Matthew 21:43

Matthew 22:2

Matthew 23:13

Matthew 24:7

Matthew 24:14

Matthew 25:1

Matthew 25:34

Matthew 26:29

Mark 1:15

Mark 4:11

Mark 4:26

Mark 4:30

Mark 9:1

Mark 9:47

Mark 10:14

Mark 10:15

Mark 10:23

Mark 10:24

Mark 10:25

Mark 11:10

Mark 12:34

Mark 14:25

Mark 15:43

Luke 1:33

Luke 4:5

Luke 4:43

Luke 6:20

Luke 7:28

Luke 8:1

Luke 8:10

Luke 9:2

Luke 9:11

Luke 9:27

Luke 9:60

Luke 9:62

Luke 10:9

Luke 10:11

Luke 11:2

Luke 11:17

Luke 11:18

Luke 11:20

Luke 12:31

Luke 12:32

Luke 13:18

Luke 13:20

Luke 13:28

Luke 13:29

Luke 14:15

Luke 16:16

Luke 17:20

Luke 17:21

Luke 18:16

Luke 18:17

Luke 18:24

Luke 18:25

Luke 18:29

Luke 19:11

Luke 19:12

Luke 19:15

Luke 21:10

Luke 21:31

Luke 22:16

Luke 22:18

Luke 22:29

Luke 22:30

Luke 23:42

Luke 23:51

John 3:3

John 3:5

John 18:36

Acts 1:3

Acts 1:6

Acts 8:12

Acts 14:22

Acts 19:8

Acts 20:25

Acts 28:23

Acts 28:31

Romans 14:17

1 Corinthians 4:20

1 Corinthians 6:9

1 Corinthians 6:10

1 Corinthians 15:24

1 Corinthians 15:50

Galatians 5:21

Ephesians 5:5

Colossians 1:13

Colossians 4:11

1 Thessalonians 2:12

2 Thessalonians 1:5

2 Timothy 4:1

2 Timothy 4:18

Hebrews 1:8

Hebrews 12:28

James 2:5

2 Peter 1:11

Revelation 1:6

Revelation 1:9

Revelation 5:10

Revelation 11:15

Revelation 12:10

Revelation 16:10

Revelation 17:17

Revelation 17:18

2. βασιλέα (basilea):

- Form: This is the accusative singular form of the masculine noun βασιλεύς (basileus), which means "king" or "ruler." The accusative case indicates the direct object of a verb or the object of certain prepositions.

- Meaning: It refers to a specific individual, the king or ruler, as a person or title. It is less abstract and tied to a concrete person.

Scriptures Containing βασιλέα (basilea, "king"):

Matthew 2:2

Matthew 27:11

Matthew 27:29

Matthew 27:37

Matthew 27:42

Mark 15:2

Mark 15:9

Mark 15:12

Mark 15:18

Mark 15:26

Mark 15:32

Luke 23:3

Luke 23:37

Luke 23:38

John 18:33

John 18:39

John 19:3

John 19:15

John 19:19

John 19:21

Acts 17:7

1 Timothy 6:15

Revelation 17:14

Revelation 19:16

Key Contextual Differences:

- Abstract vs. Concrete:

- βασιλεία is an abstract noun referring to the concept or institution of kingship, rule, or a kingdom.

- βασιλέα is a concrete noun (in accusative form) referring to the person of the king.

- Grammatical Function:

- βασιλεία can appear in various cases (nominative, accusative, dative, etc.) as a standalone noun.

- βασιλέα is specifically the accusative form of βασιλεύς, used when the king is the object of an action or preposition.

- Manuscript Contexts:

- In religious texts like the New Testament or LXX, βασιλεία often carries theological weight, describing divine or messianic kingdoms (e.g., Matthew 6:33: "Seek first the kingdom [βασιλεία] of God").

- βασιλέα appears in narrative or historical contexts to denote a specific ruler (e.g., LXX 2 Samuel 5:3: referring to David as king [βασιλέα]).

- Orthographic Note: In some poorly preserved or dialectal manuscripts, scribal errors might confuse the two due to similar letter sequences (e.g., -εια vs. -έα). However, context and grammatical agreement (feminine for βασιλεία, masculine for βασιλέα) usually clarify the intended term. For instance, articles (ἡ for βασιλεία, τὸν for βασιλέα) and verb agreement provide clear distinctions.

Example from Manuscripts:

- βασιλεία: In Codex Sinaiticus (4th century), Matthew 4:17 reads: "μετανοεῖτε, ἤγγικεν γὰρ ἡ βασιλεία τῶν οὐρανῶν" ("Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near"). Here, βασιλεία is unambiguously the "kingdom" as an abstract entity.

- βασιλέα: In the LXX (e.g., Codex Vaticanus, 4th century), 1 Kings 1:46 refers to Solomon: "κἀκάθισεν Σαλωμὼν ἐπὶ τὸν θρόνον τοῦ βασιλέα" ("And Solomon sat on the throne of the king"). Here, βασιλέα refers to the person of the king.

Conclusion:

The definitive contextual difference lies in their semantic scope and grammatical role:

- βασιλεία = abstract "kingdom" or "reign" (feminine noun, various cases).

- βασιλέα = the "king" as a person (accusative of masculine βασιλεύς).

In ancient Greek manuscripts, their usage is distinguished by context, syntax, and the presence of articles or verbs that align with their respective genders and meanings. Scribal clarity in major codices (e.g., Sinaiticus, Vaticanus) and grammatical agreement ensure these terms are rarely confused in well-preserved texts.
As a scholar of ancient Greek manuscripts, I will address the term βασιλείαν (basileian) in comparison to the previously discussed βασιλεία (basileia) and βασιλέα (basilea), focusing on its form, meaning, and contextual use in ancient Greek texts.

Analysis of βασιλείαν (basileian):

- Form: βασιλείαν is the accusative singular form of the feminine noun βασιλεία (basileia), a first-declension noun meaning **"kingdom,"** **"reign,"** "royal power," or "authority." The accusative case indicates that it functions as the direct object of a verb or the object of certain prepositions (e.g., εἰς, "into"; πρός, "toward").

- Meaning: Identical to βασιλεία, it refers to the abstract concept of a kingdom or sovereignty, not a person. The accusative form does not change the core meaning but reflects its grammatical role in a sentence.

- Grammatical Role: As an accusative, βασιλείαν receives the action of a verb or follows prepositions. Examples:

- εἰς τὴν βασιλείαν (eis tēn basileian) = "into the kingdom."

- ζητεῖτε τὴν βασιλείαν τοῦ θεοῦ (zēteite tēn basileian tou theou) = "seek the kingdom of God" (cf. Matthew 6:33).

- Contextual Use: Common in philosophical, political, and religious texts, particularly in Hellenistic Greek, the Septuagint (LXX), and the New Testament. It often denotes a divine or eschatological kingdom, such as the "Kingdom of God" or "Kingdom of Heaven." Its accusative form appears when the kingdom is the object of actions like entering, seeking, or proclaiming.

Definitive Contextual Differences:

To clarify, I’ll compare βασιλείαν with βασιλεία and βασιλέα:

1. βασιλεία (basileia):

- Form: Nominative singular, feminine noun.

- Meaning: "Kingdom," "reign," or "royal power" (abstract).

- Role: Typically the subject or predicate nominative, e.g., ἡ βασιλεία τοῦ θεοῦ ἐστιν (hē basileia tou theou estin) = "the kingdom of God is."

- Context: Used when the kingdom is the subject or focus of the sentence.

2. βασιλείαν (basileian):

- Form: Accusative singular of βασιλεία, feminine noun.

- Meaning: Identical to βασιλεία ("kingdom," "reign"), but used as the direct object or with prepositions.

- Role: Receives the action, e.g., εἰσέλθατε εἰς τὴν βασιλείαν (eiselthate eis tēn basileian) = "enter into the kingdom."

- Context: Appears in identical theological or political contexts as βασιλεία, but in accusative constructions.

3. βασιλέα (basilea):

- Form: Accusative singular of the masculine noun βασιλεύς (basileus), meaning "king."

- Meaning: Refers to a specific person, the king or ruler, not an abstract concept.

- Role: Direct object or prepositional object, e.g., εἶδον τὸν βασιλέα (eidon ton basilea) = "I saw the king."

- Context: Used in narrative or historical texts to denote a specific ruler, such as in the LXX (e.g., King David) or classical histories.

Key Distinctions:

- βασιλείαν vs. βασιλεία:

- Both are forms of the same feminine noun (**βασιλεία**) and share the same meaning ("kingdom," "reign").

- The difference is purely grammatical: βασιλεία is nominative (subject), while βασιλείαν is accusative (object). Their contextual use depends on sentence structure, not semantic difference.

- In manuscripts, both appear in similar contexts (e.g., divine kingdom in the New Testament), but βασιλείαν is used when the kingdom is acted upon or targeted (e.g., "entering the kingdom").

- βασιλείαν vs. βασιλέα:

- Semantic Difference: βασιλείαν = abstract "kingdom" (feminine); βασιλέα = concrete "king" (masculine).

- Grammatical Difference: Both are accusative, but βασιλείαν derives from βασιλεία (feminine, first declension), while βασιλέα derives from βασιλεύς (masculine, third declension). Articles clarify this: τὴν βασιλείαν (feminine) vs. τὸν βασιλέα (masculine).

- Contextual Difference: βασιλείαν appears in theological or abstract discussions of rule (e.g., New Testament’s "Kingdom of God"). βασιλέα refers to a specific ruler in historical or narrative contexts (e.g., LXX’s kings like Solomon).

Manuscript Evidence:

- βασιλείαν: In Codex Vaticanus (4th century), Matthew 6:33 reads: ζητεῖτε δὲ πρῶτον τὴν βασιλείαν τοῦ θεοῦ ("seek first the kingdom of God"). Here, βασιλείαν is accusative, the object of "seek."

- βασιλεία: In Codex Sinaiticus, Matthew 4:17 uses ἡ βασιλεία τῶν οὐρανῶν ("the kingdom of heaven") in the nominative as the subject.

- βασιλέα: In the LXX (e.g., Codex Alexandrinus), 2 Samuel 5:3 refers to David as τὸν βασιλέα ("the king") in the accusative, describing him as the object of an action.

Orthographic Note:

In ancient manuscripts, βασιλείαν and βασιλέα could be confused due to scribal errors, especially in uncials where letter forms are similar (e.g., -ΑΝ vs. -Α). However:

- The feminine article τὴν with βασιλείαν and masculine τὸν with βασιλέα typically disambiguate.

- Context (abstract kingdom vs. person) and verb agreement further clarify the term.

- βασιλείαν consistently appears with feminine adjectives or pronouns, while βασιλέα aligns with masculine ones.

Conclusion:

- βασιλείαν is the accusative form of βασιλεία, meaning "kingdom" or "reign," used as a direct object or with prepositions in abstract contexts (e.g., divine rule).

- It differs from βασιλεία only in case (accusative vs. nominative), not meaning.

- It differs from βασιλέα in meaning (abstract "kingdom" vs. concrete "king"), gender (feminine vs. masculine), and derivation (**βασιλεία** vs. βασιλεύς).

In ancient Greek manuscripts, βασιλείαν is prevalent in theological texts like the New Testament for the "Kingdom of God," while βασιλέα denotes a specific king in narrative or historical accounts. Grammatical and contextual cues in major codices (e.g., Sinaiticus, Vaticanus) ensure clarity.

Let us follow some spiritual and scriptural logic concerning that question.

Humans at this time sin, by default as it were, as we are born into sin and that is one of the main reasons why we need Christs sacrifice if we are to maintain a righteous standing before God, but righteous ones can still sin.

What about those who will inherit everlasting life?

Lets review the following:

Adam & Eve

They had everlasting life but sinned against God.

The Messengers or Angels of God.

They have everlasting life but can sin against God too. Think of the fallen angels in Noah’s time.

Having everlasting life does not mean one cannot sin.

Jehovah God our Creator

Obviously, He cannot sin.

Jesus Christ

Jesus too cannot sin once his Father bestowed incorruptible immortal life on him.

Those chosen by God to rule with Christ

In their current human form as those who do their utmost to maintain righteousness before God, the chosen ones can still sin.

When they receive their heavenly reward on Christs return, they then will not be able to sin as they become incorruptible. 1 Cor 15:53

Shane Bekker

In 2015, my life took a profound turn during a Sunday congregational meeting. As I sat there, an overwhelming sense stirred within me— a feeling I attribute to the Holy Spirit. I can’t explain how I knew; I simply did. Compelled to act, I decided I would partake of the Lord's Evening Supper, a decision that felt both daunting and undeniable.

In the weeks that followed, I began questioning long-held practices and beliefs that were said to be Bible based. I realized that beards, ties, jackets, and rigid reporting were not biblical mandates but human traditions. More startling was the growing awareness that much of what the "Governing Body" taught didn’t align with scripture. Driven by an intense desire for truth, I turned exclusively to the Bible, guided by what I believe was the Spirit. This deep dive into scripture unveiled truths I had never seen before, and to this day, I rely almost solely on the Bible for understanding.

About three weeks later—my wife might recall the exact timing—we were attending another Sunday meeting. Sitting at the back, a profound unease settled over us. The atmosphere felt stifling, misaligned with the freedom we’d begun to experience. We left mid-meeting, never to return. Shortly after, we formalized our departure with a letter of disassociation.

The aftermath wasn’t without challenges. Elders visited, probing for faults, but we stood firm. Only one elder returned after that, and we’ve had no contact since. We later heard through friends that some in the congregation mocked us, claiming we fancied ourselves apostles or prophets simply for growing beards or embracing our newfound convictions. Their words stung, but we didn’t despise them. Instead, we felt pity for their entrapment in a system that clouded their vision.

You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works.

Shane Bekker

James explains it well.

Jas 2:14-26 What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him? If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, “Go in peace, be warmed and filled,” without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that? So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. But someone will say, “You have faith and I have works.” Show me your faith apart from your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. You believe that God is one; you do well. Even the demons believe-and shudder! Do you want to be shown, you foolish person, that faith apart from works is useless? Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered up his son Isaac on the altar? You see that faith was active along with his works, and faith was completed by his works; and the Scripture was fulfilled that says, “Abraham believed God, and it was counted to him as righteousness”-and he was called a friend of God. You see that a person is justified by works and not by faith alone. And in the same way was not also Rahab the prostitute justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out by another way? For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, so also faith apart from works is dead.

1John 5:1-5 Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God, and everyone who loves the Father loves whoever has been born of him. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and obey his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome. For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world-our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?

It is clear from scripture that works alone cannot get you salvation as it is a free gift from Almighty God, but it requires faith and belief in Christ Jesus’s sacrifice along with works.

James notes that faith without works is dead as faith produces good works. If one practices bad works and declares one has faith in God and Christ, then one is a liar and will not receive salvation. So, neither faith alone nor works alone but both are required. It is therefore that one’s works can disqualify one if one is judged by them, as righteous works are produced by those exercising faith, but unrighteous works by those who do not have faith.

1Pet 1:17 And if you call on him as Father who judges impartially according to each one's deeds, conduct yourselves with fear throughout the time of your exile,

Mark 16:16 Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned.

1Cor 11:32 But when we are judged by the Lord, we are disciplined so that we may not be condemned along with the world. - CLV

Rev 2:23 And her children shall I be killing with death, and all the ecclesias shall know that I am He Who is searching the kidneys and hearts. And I will be giving to each of you in accord with your acts.

Matthew 16:27 For the Son of Man will come in His Father's glory with His angels, and then He will repay each one according to what he has done.

The fact that it mentions works as a basis for judgment does not mean that it excludes their lack of faith in God or Christ or vice versa. The fact that human’s practice what is wrong is normally a direct indication that they lack faith in God.

Rom 1:20 For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.

Heb 1:12 For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart. And no creature is hidden from his sight, but all are naked and exposed to the eyes of him to whom we must give account.

It is my current understanding therefore that those in the resurrection of the unrighteous will be judged as Revelation says, on their works prior to their death based on the scrolls as to whether they get another opportunity at life.

Some humans may not have gotten the opportunity to act on faith in God or Christ, such as mentally handicapped, children etc. From a human standpoint it seems just for such ones to have the opportunity to demonstrate whether they would want to live under God’s eventual rule.

However, those not found in the scroll of Life will be destroyed eternally. And yes, he will raise unrighteous humans not found in the Book Of Life to pass judgement on them. They would have to be raised to receive a fair trial and not one done in absentia and thus not knowing what they did wrong or right.

Eternal life is a gift, but that gift has conditions for attaining it, as is laid out in so many places in God’s Word it can only be attained to by those who believe and exercise faith in Christ Jesus and therefore God. Psalm 49:7-8 and Ephesians 2:8-9

The resurrection of the righteous and the unrighteous.

Shane Bekker

The first resurrection

Rev 20:4-6 Then I saw thrones, and seated on them were those to whom the authority to judge was committed. Also I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and for the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands. They came to life and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. The rest of the dead did not come to life until the thousand years were ended. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is the one who shares in the first resurrection! Over such the second death has no power, but they will be priests of God and of Christ, and they will reign with him for a thousand years.

1Thess 4:13-17 But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope. For since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep. For this we declare to you by a word from the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Then we who are alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord.

Matt 22:30 For in the resurrection they neither marry nor are given in marriage, but are like angels in heaven.

Luke 14:14 and you will be blessed, because they cannot repay you. For you will be repaid at the resurrection of the just.”

Luke 20:35-36 but those who are considered worthy to attain to that age and to the resurrection from the dead neither marry nor are given in marriage, for they cannot die anymore, because they are equal to angels and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection.

John 6:39 And this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me, but raise it up on the last day.

John 6:40 For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.”

John 6:44 No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. And I will raise him up on the last day.

John 6:54 Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.

John 11:24-26 Martha said to him, “I know that he will rise again in the resurrection on the last day.” Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live”. Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?”

1Cor 15:42 So is it with the resurrection of the dead. What is sown is perishable; what is raised is imperishable. - KJV

1Cor 15:43-49 It is sown in dishonor; it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness; it is raised in power. It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. Thus it is written, “The first man Adam became a living being”; the last Adam became a life-giving spirit. But it is not the spiritual that is first but the natural, and then the spiritual. The first man was from the earth, a man of dust; the second man is from heaven. As was the man of dust, so also are those who are of the dust, and as is the man of heaven, so also are those who are of heaven. Just as we have borne the image of the man of dust, we shall also bear the image of the man of heaven.

1Cor 15:50-57 Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory? The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. – KJV

The second resurrection

Rev 20:11-14 Then I saw a great white throne and him who was seated on it. From his presence earth and sky fled away, and no place was found for them. And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Then another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done. And the sea gave up the dead who were in it, Death and Hades gave up the dead who were in them, and they were judged, each one of them, according to what they had done. Then Death and Hades were thrown into the lake of fire. This is the second death, the lake of fire. And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.

Referencing both resurrections

John 5:28-29 Do not marvel at this, for an hour is coming when all who are in the tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who have done good to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil to the resurrection of judgment.

Acts 24:15 having a hope in God, which these men themselves accept, that there will be a resurrection of both the just and the unjust.

Rev 20:4-6 Then I saw thrones, and seated on them were those to whom the authority to judge was committed. Also, I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus and for the word of God, and those who had not worshiped the beast or its image and had not received its mark on their foreheads or their hands.

My thoughts on the resurrection IMO

There are only two resurrections, the resurrection of the righteous to everlasting life and the resurrection of the unrighteous to judgment as can be seen from the verses quoted above. The righteous who really believe in Christ Jesus and bear the fruits motivated by that belief, along with their faith and obedience, are resurrected to everlasting life and are given the gift of immortality and incorruptibility to rule with Christ as kings and priests for 1000 years.

As for the resurrection of the unrighteous ‘another book was opened, which is the book of life. And the dead were judged by what was written in the books, according to what they had done. And if anyone's name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.’

Considering that the dead are judged by what is written in the ‘book of life’ and other books, there must be those who are judged worthy of life at this time.

Rev 21-22 goes on to describe what happens after that, as a ‘new heaven an new earth’ in which the ‘New Jerusalem’ descends upon the earth and the “dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God.” For this to happen there must be humans on earth, those who are resurrected and judged worthy of life.

Rev 21:4-7 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also, he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” And he said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning, and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment. The one who conquers will have this heritage, and I will be his God and he will be my son.

Rev 22:1 Then the angel showed me the river of the water of life, bright as crystal, flowing from the throne of God and of the Lamb through the middle of the street of the city; also, on either side of the river, the tree of life with its twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit each month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. No longer will there be anything accursed, but the throne of God and of the Lamb will be in it, and his servants will worship him. They will see his face, and his name will be on their foreheads. And night will be no more. They will need no light of lamp or sun, for the Lord God will be their light, and they will reign forever and ever.

As Rev 22 not only shows the waters of life but also the tree or trees of life that will be available to heal the nations as it did and would have done for Adam and Eve for them to continue living everlastingly.

Yes, I believe life everlasting will still be conditional for humans then just as it was for Adam and Eve! (Refer to my first posting regarding the tree of life). Why? Just like Adam and Eve, these ones can still become disobedient even at that time as is noted by these scriptures:

Rev 21:8 But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulfur, which is the second death.”

Rev 21:27 But nothing unclean will ever enter it, nor anyone who does what is detestable or false, but only those who are written in the Lamb's book of life.

Rev 22:14-15 Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life and that they may enter the city by the gates. Outside are the dogs and sorcerers and the sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.

Bad humans at that time will be cut off from access to the city New Jerusalem and therefore to the waters of life and the tree of life, just like Adam and Eve were barred from the Garden of Eden and access to the “Tree of Life” as that time and eventually died. It appears though from Rev 21:8 that if you die at that time, you are dead forever.

They are likely not what you expect.

Shane Bekker

On everlasting life.

Well, we already know that Adam and Eve had life everlasting if they obeyed Almighty God, but they sinned before God and eventually died, as they were banned from the tree of life. So everlasting life does not equal or mean immortality as we know an immortal being cannot die.

How do we know this? Almighty God is immortal and owns immortality, and he cannot die.

1Tim 6:16: who only hath immortality, dwelling in light unapproachable; whom no man hath seen, nor can see, to whom be honor and power eternal. Amen. – KJV

On the other hand, being immortal does equal living forever. Those who inherit everlasting life are those who believe in Christ Jesus as it stated many times in the scriptures John 3:15: “that whoever believes in him may have eternal life.”

On messengers or angels and everlasting life.

Also, on the thought of everlasting life of another kind, when answering a trick question from the Sadducees about whose wife would a woman be in the resurrection after having married seven men Jesus said this:

Luke 20:34-36 And Jesus said to them, “The sons of this age marry and are given in marriage, but those who are considered worthy to attain to that age and to the resurrection from the dead neither marry nor are given in marriage, for they cannot die anymore, because they are equal to angels and are sons of God, being sons of the resurrection.

It therefore also seems Gods messengers are noted as living forever likely due to their nature of being spirits, but they are not immortal as we know only God is immortal and now Christ.

On immortality (Athanasian - ΑΘΑΝΑΣΙΑΝ).

Only mentioned 3 times in the Bible what is immortality?

We know that Almighty God is immortal and is not dependent on anyone else for life. But he is also the source of life.

Jesus was also given immortality upon his resurrection.

John 5:26 For even as the Father has life in Himself, thus to the Son also He gives to have life in Himself. - CLV

So, from John, we can see immortality is having "life within oneself".

God has though, through his grace, bestowed immortality and incorruption upon those whom He has chosen and sealed as a new creation. This would also mean that such individuals could exist apart from their Almighty Father if need be.

John 5:26 For as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted the Son also to have life in himself.

2Cor 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.

Gal 6:15 For neither circumcision counts for anything, nor uncircumcision, but a new creation.

1Cor 15:53-54 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. – KJV

On incorruption/incorruptibility (ΑΦΘΑΡΣΙΑΝ/ΑΦΘΑΡΤΟΥ – Aphtharsian or Aphthartou)

Only Yahweh the Almighty God and Christ Jesus are known to be incorruptible, unable to be turned to darkness or sin. But soon as part of their reward the chosen holy ones will also receive incorruptibility too.

Rom 1:23 And changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and four-footed beasts, and creeping things. – AKJV

Yes, incorruptibility is yet another gift that goes along with immortality, that is bestowed onto those who are called and conquer, faithful till death or their ascendance.

Rom 2:7 to them that by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and incorruption, eternal life – ASV

1Cor 15:42 So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption

1Cor 15:53-54 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality. So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory. – KJV

2Tim 1:10 but hath now been manifested by the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, who abolished death, and brought life and incorruption to light through the gospel - ERV

1Pet 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever. - KJV

Therefore, while incorruption is often associated with immortality, incorruption is not immortality as can be seen from 1Cor 15:53-54 quoted above.

Incorruption is the inability to be corrupted, sin or be disobedient. No wonder this gift of being a ‘new creation’ is one superlative in nature and truly extraordinary.

IMHO it seems prudent that an immortal being is also made incorruptible otherwise if it were possible to corrupt such ones it would be very bad indeed. Also note that receiving immortality and thus being able to exist aside from God as the source of life provokes the question, are they meant to do something else after they fulfil their roles?

The tree from which Adam & Eve could eat.

Shane Bekker

We know Adam & Eve would only die both spiritually and eventually physically if they disobeyed Almighty God. Gen 2:17 "but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”

This was the only condition indicated in which they would die. In other words, by implication if they did not eat from that tree they would continue living or having life that lasted forever, living forever. But what then was the purpose of the "tree of life", Gen 2:9 "And out of the ground the LORD God made to spring up every tree that is pleasant to the sight and good for food. The tree of life was in the midst of the garden, and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil"

Well when Adam and Eve did disobey their Creator what happened? Gen 3:22-24 Then the LORD God said, “Behold, the man has become like one of us in knowing good and evil. Now, lest he reach out his hand and take also of the tree of life and eat, and live forever-” therefore the LORD God sent him out from the garden of Eden to work the ground from which he was taken. He drove out the man, and at the east of the garden of Eden he placed the cherubim and a flaming sword that turned every way to guard the way to the tree of life.

Did you notice the words “lest he reach out his hand and take also of the tree of life and eat, and live forever”? So, eating of the tree of life meant being able to “continue living” or live forever. But hold on you say! God drove them out so they could not eat of the tree! Yes, so they therefore would eventually die physically as recorded in scripture.

We are not going to go into the “in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die” aspect of what is a day in Gods eyes at this time. I do not see the tree of life having been put there just for show and with no purpose by God. He is the God of purpose. It certainly was not put there by God for Adam and Eve or their offspring to partake of after they sinned so that they could keep living as it shown above by it being protected from such partaking of by God using the Cherubs as guards. It also did not just stand there as a symbol to everlasting life but was to be partaken of at some point to maintain their everlasting life as will be shown by considering Revelation.

Yes, Revelation is where the tree of life again appears in the “paradise of God”. Rev 2:7 He that has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit said to the churches; To him that overcomes will I give to eat of the tree of life, which is in the middle of the paradise of God. – AKJV

Remember eating of that tree would grant continuous life (Gen 3:22) and here the same is applied to those who “overcome” or conquer at that time over their sinful life and all its tribulation and remain faithful to God and Christ Jesus. They would gain access to the tree of life and waters of life in the city of God, New Jerusalem.

Rev 22:2 through the middle of the street of the city; also, on either side of the river, the tree of life with its twelve kinds of fruit, yielding its fruit each month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

Rev 22:14 Blessed are those who wash their robes, so that they may have the right to the tree of life and that they may enter the city by the gates.

But just as in Adam and Eve’s time there will be those who are prohibited from access to the holy city and to the tree of life.

Rev 21:27 But nothing unclean will ever enter it, nor anyone who does what is detestable or false, but only those who are written in the Lamb's book of life. “enter it” – “it” being the holy city New Jerusalem ref. prev. verses

Rev 22:15 Outside are the dogs and sorcerers and the sexually immoral and murderers and idolaters, and everyone who loves and practices falsehood.

Rev 22:19 and if anyone takes away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God will take away his share in the tree of life and in the holy city, which are described in this book.

The scriptures state that those who are granted access to the tree of life will keep living while those who are not permitted to eat from the tree will likely die like Adam and Eve did. Yes that does mean man will continue to have to be obedient in order to keep living as they will not be incorruptible or immortal like God, Jesus and those whole rule with Christ. They will after all still be physical earthly human creatures like Adam and Eve were before they sinned. Adam and Eve were sinless, that is until they sinned and passed that weakness on. Otherwise, one would be saying that humans would become immortal and unable to ever do what is wrong and therefore incorruptible.

I believe humans who prove themselves worthy will return to what Adam and Eve lost where they can live forever and never die under the care of Almighty God and Jesus just as it was meant to be. I cannot find anywhere in scripture where is says humans will never sin again. Rather the contrary.

According to Revelations and even these very familiar verses in Isaiah:

Isa 65:17-25 “For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth, and the former things shall not be remembered or come into mind. But be glad and rejoice forever in that which I create; for behold, I create Jerusalem to be a joy, and her people to be a gladness. I will rejoice in Jerusalem and be glad in my people; no more shall be heard in it the sound of weeping and the cry of distress. No more shall there be in it an infant who lives but a few days, or an old man who does not fill out his days, for the young man shall die a hundred years old, and the sinner a hundred years old shall be accursed. They shall build houses and inhabit them; they shall plant vineyards and eat their fruit. They shall not build and another inhabit; they shall not plant and another eat; for like the days of a tree shall the days of my people be, and my chosen shall long enjoy the work of their hands. They shall not labor in vain or bear children for calamity, for they shall be the offspring of the blessed of the LORD, and their descendants with them. Before they call I will answer; while they are yet speaking I will hear. The wolf and the lamb shall graze together; the lion shall eat straw like the ox, and dust shall be the serpent's food. They shall not hurt or destroy in all my holy mountain,” says the LORD.

Yes, Almighty God has a name which is mentioned in scripture.

Shane Bekker

Yes, Almighty God has a name which is mentioned in scripture. It is important to note that the following are NOT names but titles: Adonai, God, Lord, Elohim, Allah

Besides the many language differences, the common English accepted usage for God’s name taken from the tetragrammaton YHWH (יְהוָה) which occurs throughout the Hebrew scriptures (Old Testament) is Jehovah. You could also see Yahweh used. Also note that the words ‘Hallelujah’ means ‘Praise Jehovah’ or ‘Praise Yahweh’.

The point is that the scriptures indicate that God has a name and NO WHERE does it say it is to holy to use, as superstitious humans often say. Almost every human false God has a name so why would Almighty God not make his name known. He does!

Satan the foremost deceiver would like nothing more than to confuse humans into not using God’s name. I personally use Yahweh. Research it for yourself and see.

The following scriptures indicate that God our Creator has a name.

<colgroup><col style="min-width: 25px"><col

John 6:39 And this is the will of him who sent me, that I should lose nothing of all that he has given me, but raise it up on the last day.

John 6:40 For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.”

John 6:44 No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. And I will raise him up on the last day.

John 6:54 Whoever feeds on my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.

John 11:24 Martha said to him, “I know that he will rise again in the resurrection on the last day.”

John 12:48 The one who rejects me and does not receive my words has a judge; the word that I have spoken will judge him on the last day.

2Tim 4:8 Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that Day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing.

The scriptures listed referenced here indicate that those who believe in Jesus will receive everlasting/eternal life by resurrection on the last day.

As we know there are only two resurrections, it is logical to conclude that the last day is when Christ returns and raises the righteous. As for John 12:48 this can be understood by considering Matthew and what Jesus said about his return:

Matt 25:31-46 “When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne. Before him will be gathered all the nations, and he will separate people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats. And he will place the sheep on his right, but the goats on the left. Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’ And the King will answer them, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’ “Then he will say to those on his left, ‘Depart from me, you cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you gave me no food, I was thirsty and you gave me no drink, I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not visit me.’ Then they also will answer, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not minister to you?’ Then he will answer them, saying, ‘Truly, I say to you, as you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to me.’ And these will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.”

Apostacy / apostasy / falling away/ rebellion / revolt / withdrawing

Shane Bekker

Dictionary human definition:

the abandonment or renunciation of a religious or political belief.

The definition according to Gods word:

1Tim 4:1 But the Spirit saith expressly, that in later times some shall fall away (αποστησονται = apostEsontai = shall-be-withdrawing)* from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits and doctrines of demons

Luke 8:13 Those on the rock are the people who on hearing the Message receive it joyfully; but they have no root: for a time they believe, but when trial comes they fall away (αφιστανται = aphistantai = they-are-withdrawing)* – Weymouth

2Thess 2:3-4 Let no one in any way deceive you, for that day cannot come without the coming of the apostasy (αποστασια = apostasia)* first, and the appearing of the man of sin, the son of perdition, who sets himself against and exalts himself above, every so-called 'god' or object of worship, and goes the length of taking his seat in the very temple of God, giving it out that he himself is God. – Weymouth

From the above verses it can be concluded that according to scripture an apostate is one who turns away from belief in God, Christ, and Gods Word of Truth after having found it. The view of course of the “Christian” world religion is that if you leave their particular sect or belief then you are considered an apostate by their standards even if you have not withdrawn from God, Christ or the truth of God's Word in your actions and belief.

*added for clarity

Angels are never described as having wings.

Shane Bekker

While no human has actually seen a Cherub or Seraph they are described in the Bible scriptures here:

The Cherubim:
Exod 25:20 The cherubim shall spread out their wings above, overshadowing the mercy seat with their wings, their faces one to another; toward the mercy seat shall the faces of the cherubim be.

1 Kings 6:27 He put the cherubim in the innermost part of the house. And the wings of the cherubim were spread out so that a wing of one touched the one wall, and a wing of the other cherub touched the other wall; their other wings touched each other in the middle of the house.

Ezek 10:5 And the sound of the wings of the cherubim was heard as far as the outer court, like the voice of God Almighty when he speaks.

Ezek 10:8 The cherubim appeared to have the form of a human hand under their wings.

Ezek 10:16 And when the cherubim went, the wheels went beside them. And when the cherubim lifted up their wings to mount up from the earth, the wheels did not turn from beside them.

Ezek 10:19 And the cherubim lifted up their wings and mounted up from the earth before my eyes as they went out, with the wheels beside them. And they stood at the entrance of the east gate of the house of the LORD, and the glory of the God of Israel was over them.

Ezek 11:22 Then the cherubim lifted up their wings, with the wheels beside them, and the glory of the God of Israel was over them.

The Seraphim:
Isa 6:2 Above him stood the seraphim. Each had six wings: with two he covered his face, and with two he covered his feet, and with two he flew.

The Angels/Messengers of God:
In God’s word the Bible you will find no description of an Angel having wings or being a Seraphim or Cherubim and in the following verses you will note that humans who saw angels did not describe them as having wings and in fact mistook them often as fellow humans.

The men of Gomorrah did not realize the men of lot were angels:

Gen 19:5 And they called to Lot, “Where are the men who came to you tonight? Bring them out to us, that we may know them.”

Here Gideon did not immediately realize he was speaking to an angel of the Lord:

Judg 6:13 And Gideon said to him, “Please, sir, if the LORD is with us, why then has all this happened to us? And where are all his wonderful deeds that our fathers recounted to us, saying, ‘Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt?’ But now the LORD has forsaken us and given us into the hand of Midian.”

Judg 6:22 Then Gideon perceived that he was the angel of the LORD. And Gideon said, “Alas, O Lord GOD! For now I have seen the angel of the LORD face to face.”

Here it is plainly said that you may not know if it was an angel (no wings in their appearing to humans):

Heb 13:2 Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for thereby some have entertained angels unawares.

Here again no wings are used in the description:

Matt 28:1-4 Now after the Sabbath, toward the dawn of the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went to see the tomb. And behold, there was a great earthquake, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven and came and rolled back the stone and sat on it. His appearance was like lightning, and his clothing white as snow. And for fear of him the guards trembled and became like dead men.

While we do not know the true appearance of these entities as they are in the spirit realm, all their descriptions show they are not the same.
